Prompt Wizard

Let Signal research your website and suggest competitors and prompts to track.

Overview

Prompts are the questions Signal asks AI engines on your behalf, like "What's the best project management tool for small agencies?" After you create a brand, Signal opens Research Brand Data, a wizard that analyzes your website and suggests everything you need to start tracking.

Run the Wizard

Click Analyze brand. Signal reads your website using web search, which can take a couple of minutes. You can click Cancel to stop it.

When the analysis finishes, review three sections:

Brand Details

Confirm the Brand name, Website URL, Additional domains, and Aliases Signal found. These decide which answers count as mentioning you, so check them carefully.

Competitors

The companies you want tracked alongside your brand. Add, remove, or edit them, including each competitor's domains and aliases.

Prompts

A starter set of prompts to track, each with suggested tags. Untick any you don't want, edit their tags, or add your own at the bottom.

When you're happy, click Start tracking. Signal saves your brand details, competitors, and prompts, and starts collecting answers right away.

Adding Prompts Later

Manage prompts any time in Settings → Prompts:

  • Add prompts — Type a prompt, or paste several at once, one per line
  • Suggest Prompts — Signal suggests new prompts your brand doesn't track yet and adds them to the top of your list, marked as suggested. Edit or remove any you don't want, then save to start tracking the rest. Each brand gets 5 suggestion runs per 24 hours
  • Tags — Organize prompts by topic, product, or audience, then filter any page by tag
  • Enable or disable — Pause tracking on a prompt without losing its history

The number of prompts you can track at once depends on your plan: 50 on Starter, 150 on Growth, and 350 on Pro, shared across every brand in the organization. Disabled prompts don't count toward the limit.

On Growth and Pro, you can also track a prompt on premium models, which answer with their own web search and cite their sources. See Platforms.
