Visibility Tracking

Monitor how AI answers mention your brand, prompt by prompt.

Visibility Page

The Visibility page shows how each of your prompts performs: how often AI answers mention your brand and your competitors, and how that changes over time. This is where you find which questions you're winning and which you're losing.

Understanding Visibility

Your visibility for a prompt is the share of its AI answers that mention your brand, from 0 to 100%. A high score means AI engines consistently name you when answering that question. A low score points to a topic where your content, or the sources AI engines trust, don't connect you to the answer yet.

AI answers vary from run to run, even for the same prompt. That's why Signal runs your prompts every day and reports trends rather than single results.

How Mentions Are Decided

Signal finds every place an answer uses your brand's name, an alias, or one of its domains as a whole word. It then has a language model built for judging text read the answer and decide whether it's really talking about your brand. Answers that name no tracked company aren't sent for judging.

  • Counted — The answer talks about your brand, or cites a link containing your brand's name or domain. When the judge can't tell either way, it counts too, so a real mention is never hidden.
  • Not counted — The name means something else ("an apple a day"), refers to a different company with the same name, or the answer says it has no information about your brand.

Judged answers show the passage behind each company's assessment. The same judge also reads each answer's sentiment toward each company: positive, neutral, negative, or mixed (details).

Position is where your brand comes among the tracked companies an answer names, on average: 1 means it's named first. Companies you don't track aren't counted.

Competitors are judged the same way. When you add a competitor, or change a brand's or competitor's names, aliases, or domains, Signal re-judges past answers for just that company in the background. This starts within a couple of minutes, covers the last 90 days with the most recent 30 days first, and updates every company's position. Older answers keep how they were judged at the time, so a long-range chart can shift at that point.

Filtering and Sorting

Use the filter bar to narrow prompts by time range, AI platform, and tags. The sort menu orders prompts by Brand Visibility, Competitor Visibility, or prompt text, which helps you focus on:

  • Weak prompts — Where your brand rarely appears and competitors do
  • Top performers — Where your brand is already well represented
  • New prompts — Recently added prompts that haven't collected much data yet
